Coat of Many Colors Handweavers: The Tallitot Project
Coat of Many Colors Handweavers believes that everyone deserves to own beautiful and attractive handwoven accessories. My chenille scarves, shawls, throws and boleros were created for people who enjoy such luxurious items. I use only yarns of the highest quality to create these handwoven pieces that are both visually arresting and sensually pleasing. In combining lustrous fibers and rich colors with the fine art of weaving, my handwoven articles possess all the intrinsic characteristics, charm and irregularities of handmade textiles that make each item unique. I know that you will enjoy and cherish my handwoven creations.
Along with our studio work, we have a very unique Tallitot Project (prayer shawls), in which I specialize in teaching pre-Bat/Bar Mitzvah children (and adults as well) the art of tallit weaving - this project including teaching both typical and atypical children how to weave their own tallit. I have worked very hard to developed our special expertise in the art of individualized teaching of these weaving techniques, being one of the very few in the country doing this type of special Judaic project. With strong communities support and guidance, I have begun a tradition of teaching students how to create, design and handweave their very own beautiful and unique tallit, within one or two short, one-on-one two hour weaving sessions. |
